Behind the song

We still need to be reminded.

In 2 Peter 1:12–13, Peter is addressing believers who already know the truth and are established in it. Yet he makes it his mission to keep reminding them. Their familiarity with the truth does not make reminders unnecessary.

That is what inspired “Remind Me Again.” We can know that we are loved, forgiven, and secure in Christ, yet find ourselves listening to shame, fear, or the pressure to take control. In those moments, what we feel can become louder than what God has said.

This song is a prayer to be brought back to Jesus. Back to His finished work. Back to the grace that holds us. Back to the life we already share with Him.

The passage that inspired the song

Peter resolves to keep reminding believers of the truth they already know and to stir them up by way of reminder.

A summary of 2 Peter 1:12–13

“Remind me again” expresses dependence on the Spirit of truth to bring Christ to mind, especially when our feelings and circumstances pull our attention elsewhere.

My hope is that this song helps you pause and remember: you are loved by the Father, hidden in Christ, clean and forgiven, and joined to His life.

Sing it. Pray it. Remember it.

The lyrics

Verse 1

I forget what You have spoken When the noise gets loud inside I forget I’m dearly loved When shame begins to rise

I forget the work is finished When I’m reaching for control I forget I’m held by grace When fear begins to pull

Pre-Chorus

So call me back To what is true Again and again My heart needs You

Chorus

Remind me again I am loved by the Father Remind me again I am hidden in Christ Remind me again I am clean and forgiven Raised up with Jesus And joined to His life

When my feelings start preaching What Your cross has already denied Remind me again Who I am in Your eyes

Verse 2

I don’t need another burden I don’t need another law I need truth to lift my eyes To the Savior who is enough

You are not waiting at a distance You are not counting all my shame You have brought me near forever And You call me by a brand-new name

Bridge

When I feel unworthy Remind me I’m Yours When I feel distant Remind me I’m close

When I feel guilty Remind me I’m clean When I feel empty Christ lives in me

When I start striving Remind me to rest When I start hiding Remind me I’m blessed

When I forget grace When I lose sight Spirit of truth Bring Christ to mind

Final Chorus

Remind me again I am loved by the Father Remind me again I am hidden in Christ Remind me again I am clean and forgiven Raised up with Jesus And joined to His life

When my feelings start preaching What Your cross has already denied Remind me again Who I am in Your eyes

Outro

Stir up my heart Awaken my mind Bring me back to Jesus One truth at a time

Remind me again Remind me again Bring me back to Jesus Remind me again
