March 6, 2022Forgiveness
March 6, 2022Well, the first question is; salvation from what?
To answer that we need to go back to the creation and fall of man. I will try to make this as simple as I can.
God created man in his image. This creation was spiritually in union and connected with him fully and completely. Genesis 2:7 They, Adam and Eve, had charge over God’s entire creation except for the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Genesis 3:5 From that tree, they were forbidden to eat. One command, one rule. You know what happened. They were tempted by Satan and broke that command.
The consequences were spiritual death. Separation from their creator. This condition would be handed down through birth to all future mankind. That means you and I are born into this world with the same spiritual condition. Separation from our creator. Dead in that original sin of disobedience. Sinner by birth.
God had a plan from the foundation of time to rebuild that lost relationship between him and his creation.
The Way: He sent his Son, Jesus to be born in the flesh to pay the price for our sin. To restore that union with him. Jesus suffered the punishment that we deserved. His crucifixion and death on the cross paid the price for our sin. The debt was canceled. Once for all time. The issue of sin is taken out of the way. Nevermore to be a hindrance in our relationship with our creator.
He was buried and three days later rose from the dead. His life now is what gives us our new life in him. When we accept him as our savior from that sin we were born into. We become new creations. Re-united with our creator. In perfect union with him. Partakers of the divine nature once again.
How: Romans 10:9-10 9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
You don’t need an altar call, you need to say specific words in a specific way. Just confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead.
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
You are saved from your sin.

John 6:47 Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life.
1 John 5:11 And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
John 5:24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.
That life is not just a ticket or hall pass to heaven. It is our actual life. Acts 17:28 28 for in Him we live and move and have our being, as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His children.’
